After being exposed to poison oak and finding out that I am extremely allergic to it, I have constructed a survival guide for myself to abide by that will hopefully serve as a gruesome reminder of what happens to me and how to avoid future contact with poison oak.
- Find out what poison oak looks like.
- Don’t touch it.
- If exposed to poison oak, don’t deny it in an effort to avoid taking medicine.
- Go to the doctor to get a prescription sooner.
- Always have Kleenex handy to wipe up puss oozing out of exposed area(s).
- Don’t get sunburned on top of poison oak infection.
- Don’t touch it. Ever.
I still have the poison oak. The doctor said it won’t clear up for another week at least.
I am suffering. Donations are accepted.

What does it look like? The affected area that is.. can we see a pic.
Oh and heard that you are going to Cuba with the sis.. I’m really looking forward to seeing what pics you come back with.
I’ll email you a pic…
I was thinking about posting one, but it isn’t quite as bad as it was yesterday. I didn’t want to post it unless it was really really bad.
Actually, I changed my mind…I’ll post the one of my arm.
There were probably 3 or 4 more massive bubbles of puss on my arm yesterday. Mmmm….
GROSS. who would take a picture like that. eww.
Your rash is a winner. Would make the Skin Rash Hall of Fame on my poison ivy website at http://www.poison-ivy.org/rash
Every day the internet amazes me…
Thanks for the invitation to your website Jon.
By the way, those pictures are extremely disgusting — they make me feel lucky when considering my rash.
